Attorneys, like other professionals who advise on personal financial matters, are now required by Federal Law to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information. Because the privacy and confidentiality of information you provide us is very important to us, we are pleased to comply with this new law by furnishing you with the following information:

Attorneys have been and continue to be bound by professional standards of confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by Federal Law. Therefore, as attorneys we have always protected your rights to privacy.

In the course of providing legal advice and properly handling your claim, we may collect significant nonpublic documentation including your medical records, income tax information, employment information etc. As a client of The Thomas Law Firm we pledge that we will keep your personal information in the strictest confidence and will only be disclosed as is provided for and required by Tennessee Law in connection with your lawsuit. All members of our staff are required to follow the strictest standards of confidentiality and security.

We will retain records relating to professional services we provide so that we are better able to assist you with your legal needs. In order to secure your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with our professional standards, the Tennessee Rules of Ethics and Federal Law.

Prospective, current and former clients are all provided with the same protection of their nonpublic personal information. If you have any questions regarding our security and privacy standards, please feel free to contact us to discuss your concerns. The current file storage is for seven (7) years.
